RCCG TEENS ZEAL TEACHER’S MANUAL SUNDAY 10TH OF MAY 2020
TOPIC: THE GLORIOUS NAME OF JESUS (PART 2)
BIBLE TEXT: Matthew 1:18-25
Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.
But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.
Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples;
And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!
And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.
Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwellest thou?
He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth hour.
One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother.
He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.
And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.
MEMORY VERSE: Psalms 8:1 O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.
TODAY’S OPEN HEAVENS: OPEN HEAVENS 10 MAY 2020
LESSON AIM: To make them understand that the name of Jesus is above every other name.
CENTRAL TRUTH: His name is above all names.
We are continuing in our study on the name of Jesus Christ. We want to identify more of these names and their importance.
A. Let’s search and writes more of His name:
1. Isaiah 7:14
2. Matt. 1:21
3. John 1:36
4. John 1:38
5. John 1:41
B Write all the names mentioned in Isaiah 9:6 and the significant of these names to you.
C What makes the name of Jesus glorious?
1. It is the name above all names. Phil.2:19
2. It answers to any situation. John 14:13-14
3. At the mention of Jesus’ name every knee bows. Phil.2:10
4. The name of the Lord is a strong tower. Prov. 18:10
5. We are saved when we believe in His name. Acts 16:31
6. We can only come before God in the name of Jesus.
Over and over again in Scripture we read, “in my name”, “in Jesus’ name”, or “in His name”. The devils were powerless because of His name ( Luke 10:17).
The demons were cast out in His name (Mark16:17-18). Healing occurred in His name ( Acts 3:6, 3:16, 4:10). Salvation comes in His name (Acts 4:12, Rom10:13). We are to baptize in His name (Matt.28:19).
We are justified inHis name (1 Cor.6:11). Everything we do and say is done in His name ( Col.3:17). And finally, we pray to God in His name. Oh! what a glorious name.
