RCCG TEENS ZEAL TEACHER’S MANUAL SUNDAY 10TH OF MAY 2020
TOPIC: THE GLORIOUS NAME OF JESUS (PART 2)
BIBLE TEXT: Matthew 1:18-25
[18]Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
[19]Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.
[20]But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
[21]And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
[22]Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
[23]Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
[24]Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
[25]And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.
John 1:35-42
[35]Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples;
[36]And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!
[37]And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.
[38]Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwellest thou?
[39]He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth hour.
[40]One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother.
[41]He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.
[42]And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.

The demons were cast out in His name (Mark16:17-18). Healing occurred in His name ( Acts 3:6, 3:16, 4:10). Salvation comes in His name (Acts 4:12, Rom10:13). We are to baptize in His name (Matt.28:19).
We are justified inHis name (1 Cor.6:11). Everything we do and say is done in His name ( Col.3:17). And finally, we pray to God in His name. Oh! what a glorious name.
