TOPIC: DESPERATE PRAYERS

OPENING PRAYER

Let’s t lift our hands to the One who is the greatest: the One who is greater than the greatest, Older than the oldest, Wiser than the wisest, Stronger than the strongest, Let’s lift Our hands to the Almighty God and bless His Holy name, give Him all the glory, honour, adoration, let Him hear your voice, worship Him, bless Him, adore Him, lift Him high, He’s worthy to be praised, thank You, there’s no One like Him, He can raise the dead, open blind eyes, make barren fruitful, make the lame to walk, cause dry bones to live again, Father, thank You Almighty in Jesus’ mighty name we have prayed.
+Father, please hear my cry tonight and let Your name be glorified.

The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle, the One who has never lost a war, the Lord of hosts Himself, glory be to Your holy name, please, accept our worship in Jesus’ name.

Tonight my Father and my God, even as we are thanking You for what You did on Monday, Tuesday and yesterday, let Your name be glorified again, as You are going to do wonders today and tomorrow,

Your children are here to cry unto You, as many who will cry to You concerning anything, please, grant our requests, in every areas of our lives where we need that great turnaround, do it for us tonight, at the end of it all, let Your name be glorified, In Jesus’ mighty name we have prayed.

THE MESSAGE

Mark 10:46-52

46 And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.

47 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me.

48 And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me.

49 And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.

50 And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.

51 And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.

52 And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.

Why do people pray?
Why do we need to pray at all?
We need to pray because the spiritual controls the physical.
Job 1 and 2
John 4: 24 God is the greatest spirit.
Genesis 1:1 He made all things.
Psalm 24:1 He owns all.
Isaiah 66:1 He controls all.
Jeremiah 33:3 He gave an advice to call on Him.

+We will pray, God will hear and somebody will go with an answer.

CATEGORIES OF PRAYER

1.Casual prayer is okay when you have no problem.

2.Regular prayer – most Christians pray regular prayer. Matthew 9:6-13

3.Desperate prayer – prayer that will bring about a great turnaround. 2 Kings 4:1-7
Prayer of desperate people, some miracles can wait while some can’t.

CHARACTERISTICS OF DESPERATE PRAYER

1.There are no protocol observed.

+Lord! Help me Genesis 32:24-30. Your case will be settled before you leave this ground.

*Desperate prayers are not prayed quietly.

*Desperate prayer will bring immediate answer.

2.Desperate prayers are violent prayers. Matthew 11:12, Mark 2:1-12
+All the problems that you have been carrying about will end tonight.
+There will be shaking here tonight as a result of desperate prayers.
Matthew 15:21-29
Those who are desperate will disturb those who want to pray casual and regular prayer.
+You will get that which is uppermost in your heart today in Jesus’ name.

3.It arrests the attention of heaven. Colossian 1:16-17
You will attract the attention of the One who can never fail.
I’m expecting an earthquake here tonight specially for you.
I’m believing God for someone here today, earthquake will occur as you pray a desperate prayer.
There are mountains you think you can’t scale, problems you think you can’t handle, but if you will pray desperately tonight by tomorrow morning you will sing a new song.
*No plan B
*Now or never.
*When your case is a matter of life and death.
*When you made up your mind that it is between you and God.

PRAYER FOR SALVATION

John 9, Isaiah 59:1-2 There’s no need to pray a desperate prayer for a turnaround if you are still living in sin. Your prayer will not go beyond the roof if your sin remains.

+Cry to the almighty God for mercy – save my soul, forgive all my sin, let Your blood wash away my sin, I will serve You from now on, i don’t want sin to hinder my prayer anymore, save my soul today.

+Let’s stretch our hands towards these people and intercede for them that the One who have saved our souls will save them.

Thank You Jesus.

+Father Almighty, i just want to say thank You for Your word and for those who have come to surrender their lives to You, please Lord, receive them in Jesus’ name, save their souls, forgive their sins, let Your blood wash away their sin tonight, receive them into the family of God, Father, from now on anytime they call on You answer them by fire, in Jesus’ Mighty name we have prayed

TIME FOR DESPERATE PRAYERS
***You know the details of your situation that must have a solution, pray now.

+In the Might name of Jesus, Father we have no help but You, humans have failed, people we thought were our friends have turned out to be enemies, You are there for us, You are the Almighty, where doctors fail You don’t fail, help us tonight.

+You are our last bus top, we have come to You, help us tonight, help our families, churches, and nations tonight.
+Father, we promise You, we will give You all the glory, in Jesus’ mighty name we have prayed.
Amen, let someone shout Hallelujah.
