OPEN HEAVENS FOR TEENS 21ST APRIL 2020: GOD’S GLORY

OPEN HEAVENS FOR TEENS 21ST APRIL 2020: GOD’S GLORY

MEMORISE: I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images. Isaiah 42:8
READ: ACTS 12:21-24
[21]And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them.
[22]And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man.
[23]And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.
[24]But the word of God grew and multiplied.

MESSAGE:

God’s glory is a very special thing. It is very special because it is one thing that God will never share with anybody.
He can give you some of His power, He can give you some of His anointing, but He can never share His glory with anyone. This means hat if you try to steal His glory you are looking for trouble.
When you pass an examination, who did you give the glory to? Yourself?
Are you aware that if you had fallen sick or had an accident on the examination day, you wouldn’t have written it in the first place?
Do you know that there are some people who read but just can’t assimilate?
Some assimilate but just go blank in the examination hall. God mad it possible for you to sit for that examination and pass it, so give Him the glory.
It is a dangerous thing to try and take His glory.
If you don’t believe me, ask the successful farmer in Luke 12:16-20. He ascribed the glory of His success to himself instead of God. He achieved the success but did not enjoy it.
KEY POINT: Never try to share in God’s glory.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 SAMUEL 1-3; LUKE 18:1-17
HYMN 16
1.To God be glory, great things He hath done,
So loved he the world that He gave us His son,
Who yielded His life an atonement for sin
And opened the life gate that all may go in.
Chorus:
Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord
Let the earth hear his voice!
Praise the Lord Praise the Lord
Let the people rejoice!
O Come to the father,
Through Jesus the son;
And give Him the glory!
Great things he hath done!
2.O perfect redemption, the purchase of blood,
To every believer the promise of God;
The vilest offender who truly believes
That moment from Jesus a pardon receives.
3.Great things he hath taught us
Great things He hath done,
And great our rejoicing through Jesus the son;
But purer, and higher, and greater will be Our wonder,
our transport when Jesus we see
