THEME: COOL THE FIRE

MEMORISE: A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger. Proverbs 15:1

Read: Matthew 5:23-24
Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

MESSAGE:

When someone is angry with you, you may feel the urge to talk back at this person or defend yourself, but this only makes things worse.

Anger is like a fire and it must be quenched immediately. When you see a fire that should be quenched, you don’t throw a burning stick into it, you throw in anything that will cool it off. Read –Open Heaven 17 July 2019

If you talk back, complain or murmur when anyone is angry at you, especially a superior, you are only adding fire to the fire and when it escalates, it will burn you badly. Instead, use soft words like “I’m sorry”.

After saying you are sorry a number of times, the fire is bound to go down. When you are sure that the fire is completely quenches, then you can go back to explain yourself in the gentlest manner possible.

KEY POINT:
Fire doesn’t quench fire, what will must be as cool as water.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Psalm 22-24, Acts 20:1-16

Hymn 13
1. Is your life a channel of blessing?
Is the love of God flowing through you?
Are you telling the lost of the Savior?
Are you ready His service to do?

Chorus:
Make me a channel of blessing today,
Make me a channel of blessing, I pray;
My life possessing, my service blessing,
Make me a channel of blessing today.

2. Is your life a channel of blessing?
Are you burdened for those that are lost?
Have you urged upon those who are straying
The Savior who does on the cross

3. Is your life a channel of blessing?
Is it a daily telling for Him?
Have you spoken the word of salvation?
To those who are dying in sin?

4. We cannot be channels of blessing
If our lives are not free from sin;
We will barriers be and a hindrance
To those we are trying to win.
