OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TEENS SATURDAY 5TH MAY 2018: BE FOCUSED
MEMORISE: Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee. Proverbs 4:25
Please read: Matthew 6:33
When I was much younger, I went on a visit to my uncle’s house. I was studying during my visit when masquerades came dancing to the front of the house. There was so much excitement and
jubilation outside. My uncle noticed that I had not come out, so he came to meet me where I
was studying and asked why I was not outside to join in watching the masquerade dance. My response was “the one who the whole world will
watch will not be out watching masquerades”. I
shouldn’t have responded to my uncle like that,
but somehow, it just came out of my mouth.
A few years ago, seeing all the great exploits that God has been doing through me around the world, my uncle reminded me of that day when I said I was going to remain focused so that the
whole world will watch me one day.
I tell you now, if you will be a world changer, if you will do great things in this world, then you
must remain focused. Don’t be distracted by TV,
social media, new trends, et cetera. It may surprise you to know that most of the great people in this world don’t watch TV or spend
their time on social media.
The executives of
Rolls Royce (a luxurious car company) once said
that the reason they don’t do TV commercials is
because those who can afford to buy their cars don’t watch TV.
Place your focus on things of eternal value, and not on things of this world that will soon pass
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
1 Kings 10-11
1. When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will,
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
2. Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.
3. Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
But is blessed if we trust and obey.
4.But we never can prove the delights of His love
Until all on the altar we lay;
For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey.
