OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TEENS FRIDAY 23RD FEBRUARY 2018: USE YOUR TWO WINGS
MEMORISE: Thou hast loved righteousness, and
hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath
anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. Hebrews 1:9
Please read: Hebrews 1:8-9
MESSAGE:
When a bird flies, it is usually with two wings. A bird cannot fly with one wing. As a divine eagle,
you need two wings to fly.
1 Corinthians 1:22-24 talks of these two wings; it says while the Jews
seek for signs, the Greeks seek for wisdom. Both are found in Jesus Christ and you need both to enjoy your flight.
The power of the Holy Spirit brings the miracles and by the grace of God, this is becoming a regular feature in the midst of God’s people.
However the area where many young people are lacking is in the area of wisdom. It is disturbing to know that many teenagers want benefits without taking responsibilities.
In Isaiah 1:19, we see both sides: your responsibility is that you must be willing and obedient before the benefit of eating
the good of the land will come. This is wisdom.
Acts 1:8 also speaks in this same vein; it says you will receive power as long as you are
prepared to be a witness of the goodness of the
Lord.
Before you pray and ask God for anything, make sure your life has a commensurate level of righteousness. Address the issue of
righteousness in your life, speech, dressing, attitude, deeds, thoughts and motives. Be clean
through and through.
KEY POINT:
You can’t always take without giving. It is wisdom to know that you have to give out
something in order to be given something.

Hymn 2
1. When we walk with the Lord in the light of His
Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will,
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.
Chorus:
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
2. Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the
skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.
3. Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
But is blessed if we trust and obey.
4.But we never can prove the delights of His
love
Until all on the altar we lay;
For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey.
5. Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His
feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way;
What He says we will do, where He sends we will
go;
Never fear, only trust and obey.
