OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TEENS 13TH JANUARY 2018

Topic: WRITE

MEMORISE: Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things
which shall be hereafter; Revelations 1:19

Please read: Habakkuk 2:2

MESSAGE:
Yesterday, we discussed the power of words, we also said that the words you read or hear canchange your life. It means the words you write can change someone else’s life.

There is a common adage that says a pen is mightier than the sword. This is because the words that are written down have the power to start or end wars from one generation to another.

The things you write today will not only benefit you but many more after you. Write your ideas down because you cannot trust yourself to remember everything in detail.

Write your mistakes down so that in the future you will not repeat them. Open Heavens 13 January 2018

Write what God tells you down, so that you can pray using His own words. Take a notepad with you everywhere you go and just keep writing.

You wouldn’t know great philosophers of the past like Aristotle, Plato, Galileo,William Shakespeare, if they did not write down their thoughts. Open Heaven 14 January 2018

KEY POINT:
You could be the next great mind if only you pen down your thoughts.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Genesis 31-32
Matthew 10:24-42

Hymn 10
1. What a friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear;
What a privilege to carry
Ev’rything to God in prayer.
Oh, what peace we often forfeit,
Oh, what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Ev’rything to God in prayer!

2. Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a Friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our ev’ry weakness;
Take it to the Lord in prayer!

3. Are we weak and heavy laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Saviour, still our refuge,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,
Thou wilt find a solace there
