OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TEENS 15TH FEBRUARY 2020

THEME: TEEN OF PURPOSE

MEMORISE: Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. Proverbs 29:18

READ: HABAKKUK 2:2-3

2. And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.

3. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

It is believed by many that there are three categories of people in the world; those who make things happen, those who watch things happen and those who have no idea of what is happening.

Of the three categories, those who make things happen are in high demand.

This is because no one wants to relate with somebody who has nothing valuable to offer.

God is also looking for people that will make things happen. He needs teenagers who will stand firm as change agents.

He is search of young boys and girls who know their purpose and are passionate about it.

As a child of God, if you don’t know your purpose in life, you will be categorised among the people who sit and watch people achieve great things.

In a short while you will be relegated to the background. May this not be your portion in Jesus’ name.

As a teenager, you must not only be focused on the pursuit of your purpose, but also in seeking after God.

If you want God to use you, stay focused on Him and don’t give room for any form of distraction

KEY POINT:
Have you found your God given purpose? If yes, be focused in achieving it. If no, ask God to reveal it to you and He will.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:

LEVITICUS 20-21 ; MATTHEW 28

HYMN 13

1.I’m pressing on the upward way,
New heights I’m gaining everyday;
Still praying as I onward bound
“Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.”

Chorus:
Lord, lift me up and let me stand,
By faith, on Heaven’s table-land;
Where love, and joy, and light abound, Lord, plant my feet on higher
ground.

2. My heart has no desire to stay
Where doubts arise, and fears dismay; Though some may dwell where these abound,
My constant aim is higher ground.

3. Beyond the mist I fain would rise,
To rest beneath unclouded skies,
Above earth’s turmoil peace is found
By those who dwell on higher ground.

4.I long to scale the utmost height, Though rough the way, and hard the fight, My song, while climbing, shall resound Lord, lead me on to higher ground.

5. Lord, lead me up the mountain side
I dare not climb without my Guide;
And, heaven gained, I’ll gaze around,
With grateful heart from higher ground.
