1. Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned thirty and one years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was

Jedidah, the daughter of Adaiah of Boscath.

OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS 3 OCTOBER 2021 MESSAGE

One of the many characters in the Bible who made a difference is Josiah. He became a king at the age of eight and rebelled against the practices of the kings before him.

Josiah was born and raised by a wicked father called King Amon (2 Kings 21:19-26). Amon established idolatry in Jerusalem, he had no regard for God.

In fact, he was so wicked that his servants became tired of his reign, so, they conspired and killed him. He reigned for only two years. Amon followed the footsteps of his father, Manasseh (2 Kings 21:1-15).

One would expect that Josiah would be more wicked than his father, Amon, who was even more so than his own father, Manasseh, but he wasn’t.

This shows that you can make a difference in your family regardless of what had been happening before you were born. If Josiah could compel an entire nation to return to God, you can do the same for your unbelieving parents and friends.

You can achieve this by praying constantly for them, preaching the word of God and living by example. Very soon, they will see the light of God and change.
