OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS 14 DECEMBER 2022 MEMORIZE: Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27

OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS DECEMBER 2022 BIBLE READING MARK 4:35-41

35. And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side.

36. And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships.

37. And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.

38. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?

39. And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

40. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?

41. And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS 14 DECEMBER 2022 MESSAGE

In our Bible text for today, Jesus reveals one of His characteristic features which is His ability to still storms. While on the ship with His disciples, a great storm arose which threatened to capsize the ship with its occupants. Jesus was sleeping at the time and the frightened disciples quickly ran to wake Him. When He woke, He rebuked the storm and there was calmness. There are a lot of lessons to learn from this story.

One, the presence of a storm in your life or family does not mean that Jesus has completely forgotten you. He might be there, though silent, so you need to draw His attention through prayers. Also, what will move Jesus is faith. After rebuking the wind, He said to His disciples: “Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?”

Jesus rebuked His disciples for being fearful and faithless. Are you or your family passing through any kind of storm in the form of a sickness, poverty, lack or disappointment? Cast fear from your mind, stand in faith and draw Jesus attention through your prayers. I decree: Peace, be still to every storm you are passing through, in the mighty name of Jesus.

OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS 14 DECEMBER 2022 HYMN

NOW WE THANK WE ALL OUR GOD

1. Now thank we all our God
with heart and hands and voices,
Who wondrous things hath done,
in whom His world rejoices;
Who from our mothers’ arms
hath blessed us on our way
with countless gifts of love,
and still is ours today.

2. O may this bounteous God
through all our life be near us,
with ever joyful hearts
and blessed peace to cheer us,
to keep us in His grace,
and guide us when perplexed,
and free us from all ills
of this world and the next.

3. All praise and thanks to God
the Father now be given,
the Son and Him who reigns
With them in highest heaven
the One Eternal God,
whom heaven and earth adore;
for thus it was, is now,
and shall be evermore.
