But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous  light: 1 Peter 2:9

Bible Reading For Today – Daniel 4:28-37

The Dream Is Fulfilled

28 All this happened to King Nebuchadnezzar.

29 Twelve months later, as the king was walking on the roof of the royal palace of Babylon, 30 he said, “Is not this the great Babylon I have built as the royal residence, by my mighty power and for the glory of my majesty?”

31 Even as the words were on his lips, a voice came from heaven, “This is what is decreed for you, King Nebuchadnezzar: Your royal authority has been taken from you.

32 You will be driven away from people and will live with the wild animals; you will eat grass like the ox. Seven times will pass by for you until you acknowledge that the Most High is sovereign over all kingdoms on earth and gives them to anyone he wishes.”

33 Immediately what had been said about Nebuchadnezzar was fulfilled. He was driven away from people and ate grass like the ox. His body was drenched with the dew of heaven until his hair grew like the feathers of an eagle and his nails like the claws of a bird.

34 At the end of that time, I, Nebuchadnezzar, raised my eyes toward heaven, and my sanity was restored. Then I praised the Most High; I honored and glorified him who lives forever.

His dominion is an eternal dominion;
his kingdom endures from generation to generation.

35 All the peoples of the earth
are regarded as nothing.
He does as he pleases
with the powers of heaven
and the peoples of the earth.
No one can hold back his hand
or say to him: “What have you done?”

36 At the same time that my sanity was restored, my honor and splendor were returned to me for the glory of my kingdom. My advisers and nobles sought me out, and I was restored to my throne and became even greater than before.

37 Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and glorify the King of heaven, because everything he does is right and all his ways are just. And those who walk in pride he is able to humble.

It is unfortunate that king Nebuchadnezzar did not know the above the scripture; perhaps he would have been spared the agony of experiencing God’s humbling judgement for seven years.

While he strolled in his palace on a day like any other, he flippantly attributed his conquest and successes to his ability, forgetting that there are kings and there is a KING of kings. He did not consider the benevolence of God Almighty in his rise to greatness, and his attitude sent him to God’s school of humility. May you never have to learn humility by passing through this school in Jesus name.

As children of God who have been made kings unto God there are many lessons we should learn from King Nebuchadnezzar. As revealed in today’s memory verse, the reason for our divine election as kings is to show forth the praises of the Almighty Abba Father, who has called us out of darkness into the marvellous light of His Son, Jesus (Revelation 3:21, Ephesians 2:6). Based on Nebuchadnezzar’s experience, it will be dangerous for us to forget that we are who we are only because of God’s grace. The Holy Spirit reminds us of this in 1 Corinthians 4:7 , saying:

“For who maketh thee to differ from the  another? And what hast thou that didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why doest thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?”

Children of God should be conscious of the fact that we are not redeemed of boast or to please ourselves. Revelation 4:10 reveals that the elders in heaven lay their crowns at God’s feet in worship and adoration; this is exactly what the KING of kings expects from us also. The question is how seriously do you take the Lordship of Jesus Christ over your life? Click Here To Read – Open Heaven 3 August 2018

Christians who live in lawlessness due to unlimited liberty are saying that they have no King above them. Therefore beloved, examine yourself today to see whether you have taken control of your life away from the KING of Kings. If you have quickly return the authority over your life back to Him. Furthermore do not forget that your crown as a king under the KING is called crown of righteousness; therefore we walk and reign on His behalf in perfection (2 Timothy 4:8).

Open Heaven 1 August 2018 Hymn 2

Verse 1:
What a Friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer!

Verse 2:
Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.

Verse 3:
Are we weak and heavy-laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge,
Take it to the Lord in prayer;
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer;
In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,
Thou wilt find a solace there.

  1. Any position we are we should always acknowledge the KING of Kings and give Him praise because without Him we are nothing .

  2. Almighty GOD IS not a respecter of nobody, GOD respect those that respect Him, my advise is that we should mind the way we talk or throw our selves at God. If God can dethroned kings and turn him to animal for seven years it means GOD can do same to anyone who refuses to humble his or herselves before God. God is indeed a fearful GOD.

  3. To God be the glory for making us witness another new month of August, I pray that the KING of Kings will answer our prayers ijn

  4. Thank you Jesus for the month of Dominion! I salute the King of Kings for the grace to see another Month.

  5. KING of kings and LORD of lords! I honor and worship You alone! You are greater than the greatest! The Owner and Controller of heavens and the earth!
    I am Yours forever!

God bless daddy G.O in Jesus name. Amen.
Happy new month beloved of God!

  6. To Almighty God alone be all honor and glory! Whatever we are, we owe to Him, and whatever we have, we owe to Him. He alone gives true blessings, o let us always acknowledge, praise, thank and home Him always, and never be ‘carried away’ by any accomplishment(s)!

  7. God bless the Open Heaven team for making the devotional available online and I have been blessed through the daily prayer points. Please keep the good work and God will bless the OHD team for touching lives. What can I say about Daddy GO, God’s anointing will continue to increase upon your life. Amen.
