Topic: The Oil of Gladness
Text: Hebrews 1:9

The purpose of this Congress ‘Double Portion’, is to move you from receiving to becoming.

• God wants to move you from receiving the solution to your problems, to becoming a problem solver.
• The first portion is to take care of your own needs; the second is to empower you to solve the problems of others.

Oil is used:
• For healing. Luke 10: 30-37, James 5:14
• To accelerate promotion. 1 Samuel 16: 11-13
• For protection. Psalm 105:15
• For anointing. Isaiah 10:27
• To keep your lamp burning so that you don’t miss the second coming of Jesus.
Leviticus 6:7, Matthew 25: 1-13

☆ If you go into darkness, your eyes won’t be able to see.
Where there’s darkness, there’s no vision.
And where there’s no vision, people perish. Proverbs 29:18

☆ There is the oil of gladness. Isaiah 61: 1-3
But you have to reach out to get it. Mark 5: 25-34

☆ The oil of gladness that can change sorrow to joy is available.
But you may need to cry for it. Mark 10: 46-52

☆ The oil of gladness is available but you need to go and get it.
Mark 5: 21-24, 35-43

☆ You may need to cry, reach for, or fight for the oil of gladness.

☆ The oil of gladness carries a double portion, such that wherever you go, joy follows. Acts 8: 5-8

+ Daniel had an excellent spirit and stood out amongst his peers. Daniel 6
+ Among several sons of the prophet, Elisha was the one who got the double portion of Elijah’s anointing.

☆ ‘Above thy fellows’ means God can place you above your peers, such that among equals, you are number 1. Acts 6: 1-6

Salvation
If you haven’t given your life to Jesus, cry to the Almighty God for restoration.

Ask Him to have mercy on you, forgive you, wash away your sins, and save your soul.
Ask Him for grace to live in righteousness.
