RCCG SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER’S MANUAL 19TH JULY 2020

TOPIC: THE BOOK OF LIFE

SUNDAY SCHOOL HYMN

1. O Sunday School, on the Lord’s day,
O how I love Thee well,
I am happy, it makes me glad
To rejoice at Thy birth.

2. O Sunday School, on the Lord’s day,
Thy friend friendship suits me well,
Both young and will sing Thy song,
We long for Sunday School.

3. O Sunday School, on the Lord’s day,
Christ was Thy first teacher,
The Holy Spirit, great teacher,
Does manifest in thee.

4. O Sunday School, on the Lord’s day,
This testimony is sure,
That God, the Father Almighty,
Poured His blessing on Thee.

5. O Sunday School, on the Lord’s day,
Though the sun be so bright,
Or if the clouds be black with rain,
I’ll be in Sunday School.

6. O Sunday School, on the Lord’s day,
I rejoice to see Thee,
Will thou pass over me today?
Without my being blest?

OPENING PRAYER: Father, help me to serve You wholeheartedly so that my name can be written in the Book of life

MEMORY VERSE: “And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God, and the books were opened, and another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the Books, according to their works.” — Revelation 20:12

BIBLE PASSAGE: REVELATION 20:1-15

INTRODUCTION

The scripture establishes that there are two kind of eternity: eternal life and eternal damnation (Revelation 20:6). The Scripture also establishes that there are ‘Books’ are there is in ‘Book’; which is the ‘Book of life’ (Revelation 20:12).

This Book of life is different from ‘the Book of the living’ mentioned in Psalm 69:28. This ‘Book of life’ according to the Bible is the same with the ‘Lamb’s Book of life’ (Revelation 21:27).

God is the greatest Recorder and Rewarder. He knows those who are His and has their records. He also has the records of those who do not belong to him (2Timothy 2:19).

TEXT REVIEW: REVELATION 20:1-15

“And the dead-were judged out of those things which were written in the books according to their works” Rev. 20:12c.

This is an eye opener to every reader of the Bible that a man may be dead but not his works. A man may die and be buried in the sea or elsewhere but his work is still in the books of remembrance and judgement.

Teacher should identify those who will not be written in the “Books” according to the passage.
