BIBLE TEXT: Exodus 35:31-35

[31]And he hath filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship;

[32]And to devise curious works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass,

[33]And in the cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of wood, to make any manner of cunning work.

[34]And he hath put in his heart that he may teach, both he, and Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan.

[35]Them hath he filled with wisdom of heart, to work all manner of work, of the engraver, and of the cunning workman, and of the embroiderer, in blue, and in purple, in scarlet, and in fine linen, and of the weaver, even of them that do any work, and of those that devise cunning work.

INTRODUCTION: Creativity is the use of imagination or original ideas to create something. It is the ability to think outside the box. Creativity enhances our brain development by allowing us to experiment with new ideas, as well as new ways of thinking and problem solving. Creativity is a deep form of self-expression. It is an ability that allows people to develop new and valuable ideas, seeing and doing things differently in order to get new results. If you have ever done something differently then you are creative or every time you link two things together and you create a third entity, you create.

B. Other Facts about Skill Acquisition

1. God himself is the greatest creative as revealed in the very first verse of the bible. Gen1:1. And because we are created in His image and have His spirit in us, we can create as well. we bear the creative characteristics of God.

2. All humans are creative without exception. Many people do not practice or develop their innate creativity, because they believe that they are not creative. As God’s children, we have access to extra creative skills, as found in Exodus 31:1-5.

3. A creative art is a form of expression which can manifest itself in the creation of aesthetic objects, paintings, all hand works. It uses skills, imagination, inspiration. However, as Christians we rely on the spirit of God to inspire us while we continue to make use of our skills and imagination

4. Your ability to be creative can be linked with the talent or the gift of God in you. What are you good at? For example, David was a skillful musician, he played instruments and composed many songs. I Sam 16:23. Bezalel and Oholiab were skillful in artwork, and they worked as builders.

1. It can be used to convey spiritual and edifying messages.

2. It improves our mood. As we relax and enjoy doing what we are good at.

CONCLUSION: Creativity is innate but needs practice to master artistic skills. Through dedication and hard work, you would be able to get to greater heights in life with your creative works.
