MEMORY VERSE: “Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.” – Matthew 11:28
BIBLE TEXT: Matthew 11:28-30
[28]Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
[29]Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
[30]For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
LESSON INTRODUCTION: Troubled times can be described as delicate period or season, it is a period of serious hardship, groaning and plans and desires are not attained. Life is not predictable, there are ups and downs along the way. Life can be going along smoothly for a season, then all of a sudden, life throws a curve ball. – Psalm 30:5

TEACHING OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, members should be able to:
1. Understand a time like this.
2. Hand everything to Jesus.
TEXT REVIEW: Matthew 11:28-30
1. Everyone that is burdened should come to Jesus for freedom.
2. There is rest in Christ Jesus.
3. Walking and working with Jesus is the most privileged access as a believer.
4. Jesus won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on His own.
TEACHING METHOD: Use interactive/discussion method.
TIME MANAGEMENT: Share the teaching time using the suggested time schedule.
LESSON OUTLINE ONE: A TIME LIKE THIS
In time like this…
I. Look unto Jesus totally for timely intervention. – Hebrews 12:2
II. Shun all distractions and unwelcomed situations of life.
III. Be prayerful and seek for divine counsel. – Luke 18:1
IV. Get rid of evil company that can make you sorrowful and unaccomplished.
V. Have the mind of Christ; your attitude should be the same that Christ Jesus had. – Philippians 2:5
LESSON OUTLINE TWO: HAND EVERYTHING TO JESUS
Sometimes the reason we struggle for so long on certain matters is because we are trying to handle it on our own, so we struggle for long, and in most cases, we get stuck since we refused to hand it over to God.
EXAMPLE OF THOSE THAT HANDED EVERYTHING TO GOD:
a) David – 1 Samuel 30:1: When all his household were carried away.
b) Simon Peter – Acts 12:1: When King Herod put him inside prison to be executed.
c) King Hezekiah – 2 Kings 19:1-39: When King Sennacherib of Assyria threatened to silence him and the nation of Judah.
d) King Jehoshaphat – 2 Chronicles 20:1-24: When three nations came against Judah to destroy them, but they killed themselves.
Beloved, your life can be so much easier if you will truly hand that situation over to JESUS. Stop struggling; just hand over your challenges, be it business, marriage, or career, to Jesus.
SUMMARY: God is much more concerned with how you respond in times like this. – 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
CONCLUSION: The best way to live in troubled times is by trusting God; surrender your hope to Him – Proverbs 3:5-6. He is the way. He knows the direction to the fulfillment of your dreams and goals. – John 14:6, 1 Samuel 30:1.
