TOPIC: BE DIFFERENT

OPENING PRAYER: Father, please endow me with divine privilege to be different in all ways.
PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: The leaders should remind the members on God’s expectations on us as believers to shine as light wherever we go.
MEMORY VERSE: “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God which is your reasonable sacrifice” Romans 12:2
BIBLE TEXT: Ephesians 4:17-19,22-24
[17]This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,
[18]Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:
[19]Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
[22]That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
[23]And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
[24]And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
LESSON INTRODUCTION: As believers, God expects us to be different for our own good and for His pleasure. He expects us to put on new man, created in righteousness of God, to be different and walk not as children of the world.
LESSON AIM: To make members understand the reasons God wants us to stand out.
TEACHING OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, members should be able to;
1. Know why God wants us to stand out.
2. Know attributes ones required to STAND OUT.
TEXT REVIEW: Ephesians 4:17-19,22-24
a. That ye henceforth walk not as other gentiles.
b. Those without God’s understanding have darkened mind alienated from the life of God.
c. There is need to put off all concerning the former conversation the old man.
d. There is need for renewal in the Spirit.
LESSON OUTLINE ONE: WHY GOD WANTS US TO STAND OUT?
◆ God commands it. Ephesians 4:17
◆ Because we must no longer live like the Gentiles or the ungodly. Leviticus 18:2-4, 1 Peter 4:3-4, 1 Corinthians 6:14-18.
◆ God wants us to live a holy life, separate and righteous. Leviticus 19:2.
◆ God saved and delivered us from worldliness so we could know Him and worship Him-1 Corinthians 6:9-11.
◆ Now that we know Christ, we must not live in ignorance like the unbelievers (the world. Ephesians 4:20-21
◆ So that we do not rebel against God like the unbelievers. 1Samuel 12:14
LESSON OUTLINE TWO: STAND OUT
• Know that God has made us beautiful, unique, chosen set apart and set apart and His beloved, and so we must carry ourselves and represent our God-Col.3:12, 1 Peter 2:9, Psalm.4:3.
• We must infuse or soak our daily lives with our faith, putting our beliefs in everyday practice and setting good examples to everyone around us. 1 Peter 2:12-14
• By showing the love of God to others and prove our love and devotion to God. 1 Peter. 2:12-16
• Have the heart of a servant and care not about your personal recognition. Matthew 20:28, 1 Corinthians 9:19-23
• Studying the word of God and constantly relying on the Holy Spirit. 2Tim.2:15, 1 Pet.2:2
• Be an obedient Child of God – 1 John 5:3, 1 Peter 1:13-16
• The way you think, talk, dress and socialize your choices and actions must not be in conformity to the worlds. Romans 12:2, 1 Corinthians 6:14-18.
SUMMARY: God commands believers to stand out and we are to obey
CONCLUSION: As children of God, we are supposed to act and think differently from how the world thinks. In everything we do, we should exemplify the life of Jesus Christ.
PRAYER POINT:
1) Father we decree no more living like the Gentiles or the ungodly.1 Corinthians 6:14-18.
2) Father, let your counsel of righteousness be in all nations.
3) Father, deliver us from worldliness so we could know and worship you. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11.
4) Father, don’t let ignorance have access to our youths.
5) Father, wipe off every rebellious acts in the lives of our youths
GOLDEN DIET FOR THE WEEK
MONDAY: We must infuse or soak our daily lives with our faith
TUESDAY: We should put our beliefs in everyday practice and setting good examples to everyone around us. 1Peter 2:12-14
WEDNESDAY: Show the love of God to others and prove our love to God. 1 Peter.2:12-16
