TOPIC: FOLLOW ME

OPENING PRAYER: Father, please help me to follow you diligently
PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: The leaders should remind the members on reasons believers are to study and share the word of God.
MEMORY VERSE: “The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith unto him, follow me” John 1:43
BIBLE TEXT: John 14:6-7
[6]Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
[7]If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
LESSON INTRODUCTION: Jesus came to show us the way to the Father through His sayings and deeds, as we know not the way having been wandering about in the world after the loss in relationship with God through Adam.
LESSON AIM: To make members understand the God is the way and our good shepherd.
TEACHING OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, members should be able to;
1. Know that Jesus is the way.
2. Know that Jesus is the good shepherd.
TEXT REVIEW: John 14:6-7
1. Jesus is the way, the truth and life
2. No one can come to Father without Jesus.
3. Knowing Jesus is an access to knowing God the Father.
LESSON OUTLINE ONE: HE IS THE WAY
a. There is salvation in no other than Jesus Christ for only Him can save. Acts 14:12
b. Jesus is the only way by which believes can enter into a right relationship with God.
c. He is the way to understanding of the truth to face the realities of life, for He is the truth Himself. Psalm 25:4-5
d. He is the way that guides us from evil works and unto good works and path of righteousness. Jeremiah 32:29, Zech.1:4,6, Isaiah 42:16
e. He is the way to receive deliverance from demonic powers and strongman. Acts 19:11
f. He is the only way for believers to experience the miraculous and unlocking the mysteries of life. Acts 19:10-12
g. He is the way to eternal life with the Father. John 17:3
LESSON OUTLINE TWO: THE GOOD SHEPHERD
a. Jesus, the good shepherd alone lays down His life for His followers and never abandon us. John 10:9-15
b. He is the sacrificial shepherd always willing to ignore His own needs in order to meet our needs.
c. He loves His sheep deeply and develops a close relationship with them so that they know His voice and trusts in Him. John 10:27-28, John 15:1-17
d. He provides for followers and they never lack good things. Psalm 34:10, Matt.6:25-32.
e. He works tirelessly to provide protection and security for His own. Deutoronomy 20:4, 2 Thessalonians 3:3.
f. He leads us to fresh pastures and waters so we hunger not, nor thirsty. Psa.23:2; 34:10
g. He disciplines and corrects us. Hebrews 12:6-7, Revelation 3:19
SUMMARY: Jesus is the way and our good shepherd, we are to follow Him
CONCLUSION: As children of God and followers of Jesus Christ, it pleases God that we continue to remember and honour Him by keeping up traditions or tenets of the faith, He taught us and by following His example at all times. 1 Corinthians 11:1, 2
PRAYER POINTS
1. Father, please cause believers to enter into a right relationship with you.
2. Father, let all believers understand the truth to face the realities of life.
3. Father, please guide us from evil works and unto good works
4. Father, cause all believers to receive deliverance from demonic powers.
5. Father, make all believers to experience the miraculous this week and beyond.
6. Father, don’t let us means the way to eternal life with the You.
GOLDEN DIET FOR THE WEEK
MONDAY: Jesus, the good shepherd alone lays down His life for His followers.
