It is very important for you to be a teachable person. A teachable person listens to godly counsel and adheres to it. Anyone who is not teachable is unusable in the kingdom of God.

Many people think that they are so brilliant and intelligent that no other person knows more than them. They find it hard to listen to suggestions or advice from others, but they jump at every opportunity to speak and give orders.

Even if you are truly so intelligent, it is impossible for you to know it all. It is not possible for you to have the exact same experiences and views or perception as everyone else. Even if you won’t end up using every advice given to you, you have to at least listen and consider what you are told first.

The root cause of not being teachable is pride. If you find it hard to listen to people, especially those who have godly counsel for you or those who are more experienced than you are, it is because you are proud.

One of the best ways to avoid making mistakes in life is by learning from those who have gone ahead of you. Being teachable saves you from a lot of trouble. Be wise. Choose to be teachable.

PRAYER POINT:

Father, please give me the grace to be teachable in Jesus’ name

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Jeremiah 43-45, Hebrews 3

Hymn 2

1. When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will,
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.

Refrain:
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

2. Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.

3. Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
But is blessed if we trust and obey.

4. But we never can prove the delights of His love
Until all on the altar we lay;
For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey.

5. Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way;
What He says we will do, where He sends we will go;
Never fear, only trust and obey.
