MESSAGE:

There are three ways God speaks to people. He could advice, appeal, or command. Setting blessings and curses before people in Deuteronomy 30:19, the Lord advised them to choose blessing.

When an advice is given, you have a choice to either take it or not. In Matthew 11:28-30, God invited people who are laboured and heavy laden to come so that He can give them rest. That is an appeal.

But in Matthew 28:19, He instructed whoever believes in Him to take the Gospel to the whole world. That is a command.
Many people think that it is not their business to preach to the unbelievers.

They are just interested in living holy and making it to heaven on the last day. They don’t care what happens to everyone else. Believe me honestly, they are only deceiving themselves.

As Christians, we are members of the Lord’s army and every soldier knows that when you disobey a command, there are consequences to be faced.

If you keep disobeying the command, you will be pulled out of the army. That is what Jesus was referring to in John 15:2 when He said the branch that does not bear fruit will be cut off.

ACTION POINT:
Make sure you preach the gospel to at least one person today.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 SAMUEL 21-22; LUKE 22:1-30

HYMN 15

1. O spread the tidings ’round,
Wherever man is found,
Wherever human hearts and
Human woes abound.
Let every Christian tongue
Proclaim the joyful sound:
The Comforter has come!

Chorus:
The Comforter has come!
The Comforter has come!
The Holy Ghost from heav’n,
The Father’s Promise giv’n,
O spread the tidings ’round,
Wherever man is found:
The Comforter has come!

2. The long, long night is past;
The morning breaks at last;
And hushed the dreadful wail
And fury of the blast,
As o’er the golden hills
The day advances fast!
The Comforter has come!

3. Lo, the great Kings of Kings,
With healing in His wings,
To every captive soul a full
Deliv’rance brings;
And thro’ the vacant cells
The song of triumph rings;
The Comforter has come!

4. O boundless love divine!
How shall this tongue of mine
To wond’ring mortals tell
The matchless grace divine-
That I, a child of hell,
Should in His image shine?
The Comforter has come!
