OPEN HEAVENS FOR TEENS 29 MARCH 2020: SPIRIT, NOT LOGIC
MEMORISE: Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. 2 Corinthians 3:6
READ: 1 CORINTHIANS 2:10-14
But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
Now we have received, not the spirit of the
world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

MESSAGE:
There are many doctrines flying around these days. Many of these doctrines, though wrong, sound very logical and convincing.
In fact, Jesus said in Matthew 24:24:
“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”
This is why you must not approach the word of God with logic, but with Spirit.
The carnal mind, no matter how brilliant cannot understand the mysteries of the word of God (1 Corinthians 2:14).
Hence, you are not to listen to unbelievers who claim to know the Bible and are analysing it.
Jesus told us how to know who to listen to in Matthew 7:16. He said we should look out for their fruits. Look at the lifestyle of the fellow.
If they are living like Christ; bearing the fruit of the Spirit and living holy, then you can listen to them. However, the ultimate person to listen to is the Holy Spirit.
If He is in you, He will teach you the word of God by Himself and He will point out to you the false doctrines and the true ones. Don’t be deceived by logical arguments.
PRAYER POINT
Sweet Holy Spirit, please give me the spirit of discernment so that I will never be deceived by false doctrines in Jesus’ name
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
JOSHUA 21-22; LUKE 6:1-26
HYMN 3
1. When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will,
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.
Refrain:
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
2. Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.
3. Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
But is blessed if we trust and obey.
4. But we never can prove the delights of His love
Until all on the altar we lay;
For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey.
5. Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way;
What He says we will do, where He sends we will go;
Never fear, only trust and obey.
