OPEN HEAVENS FOR TEENS 21 MARCH 2020: SERVICE OR SELFIES?
MEMORISE: That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly. Matthew 6:4
READ: JAMES 2:14-17
14. What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
15. If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
16. And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
17. Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

MESSAGE:
One peculiar thing in your generation is the craze to keep up appearances.
Many of you are more interested in telling everyone that you are doing a good thing rather than actually doing it.
Some teens will take a selfie with their grandma and say “spending quality time with my grandma, family is everything“, whereas they only took the picture and strolled away.
Some will post a picture of them cleaning on Saturday and say “Saturdays are for house chores” when they didn’t do anything, the house help did it all.
Some will go to Church and post a selfie about how important is it to maintain a good relationship with God, whereas they did not even pay attention to the message.
Some people will only join departments like protocol where they can wear fine clothes and snap pictures with invited guests.
You need to take your mind off trying to look good and actually be good.
Take your eyes of the selfie and do the service.
If there is any virtue in showing off, them imagine how much virtue is in doing it.
Trust me, the virtue of showing off is only superficial.
The real virtue that comes from God is in doing the good service.
KEY POINT:
Stop forming, start performing.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:

HYMN 7
1.Take my life and let it be
Consecrated Lord to thee
Take my moment and days
Let them flow ceaseless praise.
2.Take my hands and let them move
At the impulse of thy love
Take my feet and them be
Swift and beautiful for thee
3.Take my voice and let me sing
Always only for my king
Take my lips and let them be
Filled with messages from thee.
4.Take my sliver and my gold
Not a mite would I withhold
Take my intellect, and use
Every power as thou shalt choose.
5.Take my will and make it Thine,
It shall no longer mine:
Take my heart, it is Thine own;
It shall be Thy royal throne,
6.Take my love, my Lord, I pour
At They feet its treasure store;
Take myself, and I will be
Ever, only, all for thee
