OPEN HEAVENS FOR TEENS 10 OCTOBER 2019 THURSDAY
THEME: MEEKNESS
MEMORISE: Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Matthew 5:5
Read: 2 Timothy 2:24-25
24. And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
25. In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
MESSAGE:
Meekness means having the power and ability to harm someone that hurt you, yet you refuse to use it.
A meek person overlooks insults and forgives easily. Some theologians are of the opinion that Moses is the greatest prophet that ever lived. They may be right because the bible refers to Moses as the meekest man on earth.
This tells us that if you want to be a great leader, then you have to be meek.
You are not too young to be meek. Even as a teenager, you don’t need to prove to anyone that you can ‘deal’ with them.
When you are meek, people may see you as a fool, but don’t let that disturb you; God fights for the meek. People will just discover that even though you don’t fight them back, they pay for the wrongs that they do to you.
I have learnt to be meek and believe me honestly, I have seen God fight for me many times such that I get scared sometimes and plead that He has mercy on the fellow He is fighting with because of me.
KEY POINT:
Do you want God’s complete protection? Then, become meek.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Isaiah 43-44, Colossians 2
Hymn 7.
1. I am Thine 0 Lord, I have heard Thy voice,
And it told Thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith
And be closer drawn to Thee.
Draw me nearer, nearer blessed Lord
To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer blessed Lord,
To Thy precious, bleeding side.
2. Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
By the pow’r of grace divine;
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
And my will be lost in Thine.
3. Oh, the pure delight of a single hour
That before Thy throne I spend,
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God
I commune as friend with friend!
4. There are depths of love that I cannot know
Till I cross the narrow sea;
There are heights of joy that I may not reach
Till I rest in peace with Thee.
