OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TEENS SUNDAY 18TH FEBRUARY 2018: USE YOUR BRAIN WISELY
MEMORISE: And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts
and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7
Please read: Philippians 4:7-8
MESSAGE:
The brain is the engine room of the body. The brain is where you think from; so if the brain
thinks something is ok to do, that is exactly what the body will do. The brain is the most important factor to consider when it comes to human
actions or inactions.
There is so much that your brain can help you to achieve if only you will use it wisely. What you
regularly feed your brain with is the shape your
life will eventually take.
If you feed your brain with the Word of God, your entire body will act in
accordance to God’s Word to give you your desired life. If you study your books regularly,
you will find yourself getting good grades in
school and having intelligent conversations.
Don’t feed your brain with things that will not profit
you. Ungodly music will profit you nothing, gossip will profit you nothing; rather feed your brain with
intelligent things that can make you very great in life.
To increase the effectiveness of your brain,
exercise regularly. Scientists have discovered that those who do regular exercise don’t easily forget things.
KEY POINT:
Only feed your brain with things that are
beneficial to achieving God’s purpose for your
life.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Leviticus 26-27
Mark 2
Hymn 2
1. When we walk with the Lord in the light of His
Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will,
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.
Chorus:
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
2. Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the
skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.
3. Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
But is blessed if we trust and obey.
4.But we never can prove the delights of His
love
Until all on the altar we lay;
For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey.
5. Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His
feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way;
What He says we will do, where He sends we will
go;
Never fear, only trust and obey.
