Read – Open Heaven 28 December 2019
Prayer is a means of communicating with our Heavenly Father. As a child, you are expected to communicate with your Father constantly, but it’s sad that Christians are becoming less prayerful by the day.
Some pray for five minutes and are already tired. When I went to Dr. Yonggi Cho’s Church in China some years back, I wanted to know the secret of his ministry and I found out that it was nothing but prayer.
He had some prayer pits dug for some people. I couldn’t wait to get in there to pray. When we were asked to get in, I entered one and was so lost in prayers that I spent two hours there.
When I got to the bus, I realised that everyone was upset because they had all been waiting for me. Today, I see the results of my prayers.
Prayer activates destiny fulfillment. At the garden of Gethsemane, the Lord Jesus Christ prayed until His sweat was as thick as blood, before long, He was glorified by God.
Jacob wrestled with God in the place of prayer and his destiny of becoming Israel was activated.
If you want to fulfill your destiny in Christ, you must be ready for earnest prayer
ACTION POINT:
We are not just called to pray, but to pray fervently.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Jonah 1-4 ; Revelation 9
Hymn 16
1. Christian, seek not yet repose
Hear thy gracious Savior say;
Thou art in the midst of foes:
Watch and pray.
2. Principalities and power
Mustering their unseen array
Wait for the unguarded hours:
Watch and pray
3. Gird the heavenly armor on,
Wear it ever night and day;
Ambushed lies the evil one:
Watch and pray.
4. Hear the victors who o’ercame,
Still they mark each warrior’s way;
All with one sweet voice exclaim,
Watch and pray.
5. Hear, above all, hear thy Lord,
Him thou loves to obey;
Hide within thy heart His word:
Watch and pray.
6. Watch, as if on that alone
Hung the issue of the day;
Pray, that help may be sent down:
Watch and pray.
