OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL
FOR TEENS 19 JUNE 2019
THEME: ORDERED TO LOVE
MEMORISE: This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.John 15:12
Read: John 13:34-35
34. A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
35. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
MESSAGE:
It is not enough to profess love to others, concrete efforts must be made to ensure that love professed is genuine. In Romans 12:9-10, we see that we are to show love to others to the point of putting them before ourselves. Also Read – Open Heavens 19th June 2019
Where there is genuine be love, it won’t be hard for you to teach those that have issues with that subject you are very good at. Where there is love, you will be moved to visit you friend in the clinic when he/she falls sick. Where there is love, you will be willing to give and share what you have. God has given us the order to love truly. Love is an action word; if you claim to love others, it will show in the way you treat them. You will not be jealous when they buy a new game or phone, you will not be jealous when they score high marks in their exams, instead, you will celebrate their successes with them. Do you truly love others?
ACTION POINT:
Cultivate the habit of loving others, even when you don’t agree with their beliefs.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Nehemiah 9-11, Acts 4:1-22
Hymn 7.
1. I am Thine 0 Lord, I have heard Thy voice,
And it told Thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith
And be closer drawn to Thee.
Draw me nearer, nearer blessed Lord
To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer blessed Lord,
To Thy precious, bleeding side.
2. Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
By the pow’r of grace divine;
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
And my will be lost in Thine.
3. Oh, the pure delight of a single hour
That before Thy throne I spend,
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God
I commune as friend with friend!
4. There are depths of love that I cannot know
Till I cross the narrow sea;
There are heights of joy that I may not reach
Till I rest in peace with Thee.
