OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TEENS MONDAY 12TH FEBRUARY 2018: BEYOND BARGAIN
MEMORISE: Then when lust hath conceived, it
bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. James 1:15
Please read: John 12:1-6
MESSAGE:
Gehazi was being prepared to be a highly anointed man of God, but he was busy chasing after wealth and riches.
He got what he wanted, and even beyond it. If you are pursuing wealth,
you will get more than you bargained for.
It is one thing to acquire wealth, but another to live to spend it. The only blessing that will make you rich without adding sorrow is the blessing that
comes from God.
If you are stealing, your evil deeds will eventually take its toll on you. Gehazi
got the money, but he also got the disease that
Naaman was prepared to pay any amount to get rid of.
You can never tell where the act of greed will take you. You can tell the beginning of a sin, but you may not be able to tell its end.
Be mindful of your steps. Are you secretly planning to commit sin? Did you say it will only be once and you will
never try it again? The truth is, that single act of sin will surely attract others in quick succession
and each will come with their repercussions.
You cannot effectively hide sin no matter how smart you are.
KEY POINT:
Behind every sin are terrible consequences. For
every sin you can avoid, you save yourself, family
and generations multitudes of evils.

Hymn 7
1. I am Thine 0 Lord, I have heard Thy voice,
And it told Thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith
And be closer drawn to Thee.
Draw me nearer, nearer blessed Lord
To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer blessed Lord,
To Thy precious, bleeding side.
2. Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
By the pow’r of grace divine;
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
And my will be lost in Thine.
3. Oh, the pure delight of a single hour
That before Thy throne I spend,
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God
I commune as friend with friend!
4. There are depths of love that I cannot know
Till I cross the narrow sea;
There are heights of joy that I may not reach
Till I rest in peace with Thee.
