OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TEENS 25th January 2018: BLIND TO YOUR FAULTS?
MEMORISE: Jesus said unto them, if ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth. John 9:41
Please read: John 9:40-41
MESSAGE:
Zechariah 3:1-7 relays an incident where Joshua the high priest stood to offer a sacrifice, but he was clothed with a filthy garment and Satan stood at his right hand to resist him.
This tells us that whenever we are not properly clothed in God’s righteousness and we want to offer an offering or sacrifice to God, there will surely be some formidable resistance from the kingdom of darkness.
The filth on Joshua’s garment gave Satan legal right to withstand his offering.
From this we also learn that not all sacrifices are acceptable to God. Some sacrifices are rejected, some are accepted, while some others are contested. Mind how you are clothed before you go to offer anything before God.
Unfortunately, people have illusions about their present state, and this is very dangerous.
Ironically, when someone points out such a persons’ dirty state, they automatically think the message is for someone else. This is rather unfortunate. Open Heaven 25th January 2018
Going by what the Lord told the Pharisees in John 9:40-41, it takes the blind fellow to admit his state of blindness before he can receive help from the Lord.
PRAYER POINT:
Oh Lord, expose my faults and weaknesses to me and grant me the grace to make amends.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Exodus 7-10
Matthew 18:1-20
Hymn 7.
1. I am Thine 0 Lord, I have heard Thy voice,
And it told Thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith
And be closer drawn to Thee.
Draw me nearer, nearer blessed Lord
To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer blessed Lord,
To Thy precious, bleeding side.
2. Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
By the pow’r of grace divine;
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
And my will be lost in Thine.
3. Oh, the pure delight of a single hour
That before Thy throne I spend,
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God
I commune as friend with friend!
4. There are depths of love that I cannot know
Till I cross the narrow sea;
There are heights of joy that I may not reach
Till I rest in peace with Thee.
