FOR TEENS 20 JULY 2019

THEME: HEARING GOD’S VOICE

MEMORISE: My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: John 10:27

Read: Psalms 32:8-9 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.
Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee.

MESSAGE:

The first time I heard somebody say that God told Him something was in a service many decades ago. I had followed my friend to church and was beside him as the preacher spoke. Read – Open Heaven 20 July 2019

I immediately turned to my friend whose eyes were closed in prayer and asked “When did God say that, did you hear His voice?” My friend responded, “Keep quiet, God is talking”.

This got me even more confused and I was determined that I must also be able to hear God’s voice someday.
Today, I hear God’s voice.

The first step to hearing God speak is pay attention to His voice in your Bible and obey it. When He has seen how faithful you are obeying His voice through His word (The Bible), He will then speak to you in plain terms.

KEY POINT:
God talks to you everyday through the Bible, listen!

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Psalm 31-33, Acts 21:15-40

Hymn 2
1. When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will,
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.

Refrain:
Trust and obey, for theres no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

2. Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.

3. Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
But is blessed if we trust and obey.

4. But we never can prove the delights of His love
Until all on the altar we lay;
For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey.

5. Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way;
What He says we will do, where He sends we will go;
Never fear, only trust and obey.
