OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS 29 JANUARY 2022 BIBLE READING 2 SAMUEL 12:11-13

11. Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will raise up evil against thee out of thine own house, and I will take thy wives before thine eyes, and give them unto thy neighbor, and he shall lie with thy wives in the sight of this sun.

12. For thou didst it secretly: but I will do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun.

13. And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the LORD. And Nathan said unto David, The LORD also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die.

OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS 29 JANUARY 2022 MESSAGE

As humans, its not always easy to get along with everyone all the time. Sometimes, you could hurt someones feelings without intending to or you may be mean in order to prove a point.

Either way, you need to apologize when you’re wrong so that you can make peace with the other person and be a good example.

In todays Bible reading, King David realized his error when Prophet Nathan scolded him for his sin. He immediately apologized for committing adultery and murder. Although he reaped the consequences of his sins, he was still adjudged a man after Gods heart (Acts 13:22 ).

Therefore, apologizing for a wrongdoing is not a sign of weakness but strength. It shows that you have empathy, respect the other person and care about his/ her feelings.

It is important to apologize so as to build good relationships. lf someone is upset because of something you did, try to set things right. When you tease someone and he/ she doesn’t find it funny, apologize.

If you lose or break something that belonged to someone else, before you replace it, apologize. If you tell a lie, break a rule or failed to keep a promise, apologize.

OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS 29 JANUARY 2022 KEY POINT

Instead of trying to justify a wrongdoing, just apologize and never repeat it.

OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS 29 JANUARY 2022 HYMN

JUST AS I AM, WITHOUT ONE PLEA

1. Just as I am, without one plea,
But that Thy blood was shed for me
And that Thou bidst me come to Thee,
Oh Lamb of God I come, I come.

2. Just as I am, and waiting not
To rid my soul of one dark blot
To Thee, whose blood can cleanse each spot
Oh Lamb of God I come, I come.

3. Just as I am though tossed about,
With many a conflict, many a doubt,
Fighting’s and fears within, without,
Oh Lamb of God I come, I come.

4. Just as I am poor, wretched, blind,
Sight, riches, healing of the mind
Yea, all I need, in Thee to find
Oh Lamb of God I come, I come.

5. Just as I am, Thou wilt receive,
Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve,
Because Thy promise I believe
Oh Lamb of God I come, I come.

6. Just as I am Thy love unknown
Has broken every barrier down;
Now to be Thine, yea Thine alone,
Oh Lamb of God I come, I come.

7. Just as I am, of that free love
The breadth, length, depth and
height to prove,
Here for a season, then above,
Oh Lamb of God I come, I come.
