MESSAGE
One most potent but highly neglected weapon available to every child of God is
prayer. It can be likened to quite a number of things.
In todays passage, prayer is likened to an aroma; a sweet smell that is offered to
God. The prayers of those who are in right standing with God can be likened to an
incense that ushers them into His presence (James 5:16 ).
The more you find time to pray, the more your shame and stink will give way to pleasantness. John 16:24 says
should keep on asking until your joy is full.
There is a popular Yoruba saying that you goes thus: bad situations need prayers, even
good situations too need prayers.
Are there things in your life you dont like?, Pray them away!. Are there things in your life that bring you joy?, Pray for and about them.
Is there a teacher whose teaching style you dont like?, Pray about it.
The God we serve is a prayer answering God, He hears and answers us at all times.
You should make best use of this fact as often as you can. Talk to God as many times as possible.
KEY POINT
Praying is pouring out your heart to God.
How often do you do it?
HYMN
THE COMFORTER HAS COME
1. O spread the tidings ’round, wherever
man is found,
Wherever human hearts and human woes
abound.
Let every Christian tongue proclaim the
joyful sound:
The Comforter has come!
CHORUS
The Comforter has come! The Comforter has
come!
The Holy Ghost from heav’n, the Father’s
promise giv’n,
O spread the tidings ’round, wherever man is
found:
The Comforter has come!
2. The long, long night is past; the morning
breaks at last;
And hushed the dreadful wail and fury of the
blast,
As o’er the golden hills the day advances
fast!
The Comforter has come!
3. Lo, the great King of kings, with healing in
His wings,
To every captive soul a full deliv’rance
brings;
And thro’ the vacant cells the song of triumph rings;
The Comforter has come!
4. O boundless love divine! How shall this
tongue of mine
To wond’ring mortals tell the matchless
grace divine –
That I, a child of hell, should in His image
shine?
The Comforter has come!
