LESSONS OF LIVING IN GLORY

LESSONS OF LIVING IN GLORY

From the 4th to the 8th of February, in the Open Heavens Devotional by Pastor E A Adeboye, we considered the topic “Living in GLORY” parts I to V.

This topic was an expository one into the kind of life God desires for believers and the hindrances keeping us away from that life.

The devotional gave us insight into the Glory and splendour of God and how God wants that same Glory to radiate in our lives.
Below is the summary of the devotional for each day.

LIVING IN GLORY I (4th FEBRUARY) – God’s Glory
The Glory of God is indescribable. It is difficult to accurately put into words the sovereignty of God’s splendor and holiness.

It is the desire of God that we all live in His Glory even here on earth. We do not have to wait to get to heaven to enjoy and display the Glory of God.

The Glory of God is multifaceted and has different dimensions of blessings for we believers. To partake of this blessing, you must first come to Jesus and surrender your life. Next, you must live according to His word.

LIVING IN GLORY II (5th FEBRUARY) – Glory is a shame terminator.

The Glory of God disgraces and destroys shame.
Wherever God’s Glory exists, shame can never be. Poverty, sickness, sinful life, bondage, failure, and more are all parts of shame and humiliation.

The Word of God has everything a believer needs to be victorious in these areas and live in Glory. To enjoy this victory, you must obey God’s word.

LIVING IN GLORY III (6th FEBRUARY) – Sin
Sin is disobedience to God’s word. As humans with an imperfect nature, we’re prone to sin and unrighteousness. But with the grace of God and the help of the Holy Spirit, we can live sinless lives.

When we fall and come to repentance, God forgives us. But when a person keeps intentionally returning to their sin, he become stiff necked, reprobate, unrepentant sinner and a child of perdition.

The Bible clearly states that the wages of sin is death and death is very contrary to God’s desire for us to live in Glory. Flee from sin. Accept Jesus.

LIVING IN GLORY IV (7 FEBRUARY) – Backsliding
Backsliding happens when believers who have turned from their past sinful life and come to Christ relapse again and fall back into their old ways.

Backsliding grieves God and ignites his anger. Fortunately, backsliding does not have to be the end of the road. When a person who has backsliden realizes their wrong, they can come out of it by accepting Jesus Christ and repenting of their sins.

LIVING IN GLORY V (8 FEBRUARY) – Bondage.
Bondage is anything that binds a person in torment or fear. Interestingly, bondage is not forced on anyone. People fall into bondage through wrong choices and mistakes. When people yield to the devil and go his way, they end up in a tight corner of bondage.

The good news is that a person in bondage can decide to come out of it. When that person accepts the lordship of Jesus Christ, the course of their life changes forever and they become free from physical and spiritual bondage.

This devotional was an absolute blessing. Take time to reflect on the lessons learned and on other devotionals on this site. We post the open heavens devotionals daily on this site to feed God’s people with His word.

Share the Word and bring more people to light. God bless you.
