9 WAYS TO LIVE A HAPPY LIFE

You can be happy and live a consistently happy life.

One mistake humans are quick to make is postponing our happiness. Laying it down on the altar of unmet expectations and unachieved goals.

Life is short, and waiting until you have all the money or possessions you desire to be happy is not only a bad idea, it’s a self sabotaging one.

Furthermore, people are more likely to be more productive and achieve their goals when they’re happy than when they are sad and pessimistic about life.

We all have bad days once in a while but when it becomes frequent, and begins to course through your entire being, then it is time for you to put a stop to it and the following tips are a great way to start.

1. REJOICE IN THE LORD

The first way to live a happy life is to find joy in God.

As believers, we must daily wake up rejoicing in the Lord and being happy about our salvation.

No matter what may be going wrong, one thing is definitely going right and that is the fact that you have been made right with God and you are redeemed from darkness into God’s marvelous light.

Let this fact sink deeply into you and make you constantly happy and joyful in God.

This joy will make you live a happy life.

2. PLACE LOGIC BEFORE EMOTIONS

This is relevant especially when it comes to your relationships with people. There is a 90% chance that someone will annoy everyday you head out. Reacting emotionally to everything said to you will only make you hurt and frustrated.

You must learn to detach yourself from people’s words and decisions. So, if someone says something offensive to you, instead of allowing your emotions dictate how you feel about it, bring logic in, and make excuses for the person “Maybe they’re just hurting or having a bad day.”
This way, people have less power over you and you’re able to avoid being sad.

3. BE KIND

Kind people receive kindness in different ways in return.

A potent way to be happy is to show kindness. When you are kind to people, they show you gratitude and their happiness spills to you as well.

Contrary to what many people in the world think, amasing possessions for yourself and giving to yourself alone is not the key to happiness.

You’re more likely to live a happy and fulfilling life when you show love and kindness to people as well.

4. DO MORE OF WHAT YOU LOVE

As long as it is not a sin, or a foolish thing, you should do the things you love to do.

There are little things that make you happy like spending time with family and friends, playing games, and so on.

You should create time to do such things.

Instead of sitting down and brooding over challenges and becoming sad, choose to do things that make you happy.

5. HAVE A GRATITUDE JOURNAL

Practicing gratitude is very powerful.

Living a grateful life is the key to sending sadness out of your life.

Write out your testimonies and all the things your grateful for daily.

Make it a habit to constantly go through this note.

6. AVOID COMPARISON

Your life is unique and different for every other person’s.

One way to an unhappy life is comparing your life with other’s.

To be happy, avoid comparison.

7. BE CONFIDENT IN YOUR DECISIONS

One sure way to be unhappy is to be swayed around by people’s opinions about your life and how you live it.

Once you find a good path, follow it and be unapologetic about it.

Let God lead your decisions and not people.

8. TAKE CARE OF YOUR BODY

You have nowhere else to live.

To live a happy life, you must be comfortable and confident in the body you live in.

This does not mean that your body will be perfect but you can make efforts by eating healthy and exercising.

You can start by reducing the ratio of unhealthy to healthy food you consume.

There’s a kind of happiness that comes from knowing that you are doing good to your body and taking care of it.

9. AVOID NEGATIVITY

It could be from negative people, places, situations, or even your own thoughts. Never allow negative energy dwell around you for long.

One great way to avoid negativity is by filling your life with positivity.

Think positive and happy thoughts and be around happy people.
