Let us look at 7 beautiful things to do this Christmas:

1. THANK GOD FOR THE BIRTH OF JESUS

We often just thank God for the death and resurrection, but do we really thank Him for the birth of Jesus? What significance does his birth have to us?
It brings closer to our hearts that our savior did not just appear, He came, He was given.

In fulfilling Isaiah’s prophecy: ‘unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given’, it makes us see that God came in the flesh by identifying with our frailty to reconcile us back to himself.

The birth of Jesus is so beautiful to think upon, because it’s because the incorruptible ‘seed’ of God was born unto us that the corruptible seed of man can be born again and become incorruptible.
Take out some time this Christmas to thank God for the birth of Jesus.

2. READ THE STORY ABOUT THE BIRTH OF JESUS

You might not be able to go to the old testament and find direct scriptures that prophesied about the Virgin birth of Jesus, but you can read the new testament and see how God’s peace plan was executed using a carpenter and his betrothed, a virgin. You will find this story in Matthew 1:18-2:23 and Luke 1:26-38, 2:1-40.
You will enjoy it and be blessed by it.

3. SEE A MOVIE ON THE BIRTH OF JESUS

This might be something you overlooked, but getting a visual representation of what happened from the angel’s meeting with Mary to the birth of Jesus and announcement by angels and men, will take your heart to Bethlehem and you will experience the thrills and joys that they experienced.

You can do this with loved ones around to give yourself a more warm and lovely environment to enjoy the journey of Mary and Joseph.

4. MAKE A PLAYLIST OF CHRISTMAS SONGS

It is always a beautiful thing to do as you download new songs that talk about Christmas or literally about the birth of Jesus.

It could be contemporary or a hymnal, whichever one you prefer. Make a playlist and play it through the day.

Songs enter into the soul more than through the ears, and the sweetness, calm and beauty it brings to the heart is incomprehensible. A few songs you might want to consider are: O Come Emmanuel, Little Drummer Boy, O Holy Night, Silent Night, Mary’s Boy Child, Carol Bells, Joy to the World, and others.

5. TELL PEOPLE THE REASON FOR CHRISTMAS

Christmas is not a Santa Claus thing. Neither is it just a happy holiday. Christmas is a remembrance of God’s mercy and love that he showed us by sending his son in form of a baby to be born. Tell people about the reason for Christmas, and by so doing win a soul to the kingdom.

That was why Jesus came in the first place.

6. GIVE

As we were freely given the Son, give something too. There are neighbors, people in church, prisons, orphanages, schools, wherever. Give. Somethings you can give are foodstuff, clothes, money, Bibles, stationaries, medicine, cooked food, your time and yourself. Visit people, that is you giving your time and yourself. What you have in your house, show love and give.

7. DECORATE YOUR SPACE, EAT AND HAVE FUN

What is Christmas without fun and food? Check the internet for simple decorations you can do with household stuff if you cannot afford to buy new ones from a store. Also check for new recipes of a snack or drink or food and try it out. Remember to do that in small quantity so that you won’t waste anything. Invite friends over, and go out to fun places like a park or restaurant or a Christmas event. Get a gift or gifts for loved ones if you can afford to. The spirit of Christmas is the spirit of love, joy and peace. So don’t stay indoors sleeping or doing nothing that preaches love, joy and peace.

Have a wonderful Christmas, and remember: even if you were the only one that needed saving, Jesus would still have been born to save you. Shalom.
