5 THINGS YOU SHOULD ALWAYS WRITE DOWN
Writing or journaling is a powerful act that has been practiced for decades even in scripture.
One of God’s blessings to us is the ability to capture thoughts, ideas, instructions and so on in writing.
Imagine if writing did not exist? How would Moses collect the commandments from God? How would we have access to the Bible and all the important Christ websites and information we read daily?
Writing is a blessing and the Bible encourages it.
“Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.” Habakkuk 2:2 NKJV
You do not have to be a skilled writer to write. All you need to do is know how to write down your thoughts in any language you understand.
Today, we’re sharing 5 things you need to start writing down as a believer.
1) YOUR PRAYERS
Writing down prayers and supplication is a great practice because it helps you remember what you need to pray about.
When you are too tired to pray or do not know what to pray on, getting your book of prayers will energize you.
You can write intercessory prayers too. Prayers for your life, job, family, friends, nation, church, pastor, and so on. Writing down your prayers help you remember when God answers them.
2) YOUR TESTIMONIES
“Bind them on your fingers; Write them on the tablet of your heart.” Proverbs 7:3 NKJV
It is important to document testimonies.
Testimonies tell of God’s faithfulness and serve as reminders that God can be trusted.
Every time God does something great or small for you, write it down in a place that you can remember.
Your testimonies will encourage you tomorrow when life seems tough. Remembering God’s victory for you yesterday may just be the refueling you need in the face of adversity tomorrow.
What’s more? Your testimonies will encourage others too.
3) God’s instructions to you
“And you shall write very plainly on the stones all the words of this law.” Deuteronomy 27:8
Sometimes you may forget the things God tells you and the seasons He takes you through.
Writing them down will help you remember.
The Bible is a compendium of prophecies, God’s work, people’s lives, experiences, feats, and so on.
Many places in scripture, we see the instructions God gave people and how it turned out.
These sometimes minister to us and make us understand God better.
God’s instructions to you may be what helps you or someone else understand Him better tomorrow.
4) GOD’S INSPIRATION TO YOU
“But there is a spirit in man, And the breath of the Almighty gives him understanding.” Job 32:8
The Holy Spirit inspires us in various ways. In areas like our career, school, work place, ministry, and so on.
Virtually all the content on rccgonline.org that is blessing lives today is a product of the inspiration of God.
When God inspires you to do or share something, write it down immediately because sometimes we easily forget these things.
5) THINGS YOU ARE GRATEFUL FOR
“Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits:” Psalms 103:2
Keeping a gratitude book is one of the ways to live a happier lifestyle.
When you remember some of God’s blessings to you, do not just smile. Thank God for them and write them down.
A hymn says “count your blessings and name them one by one. And it will surprise you what the Lord has done”. Develop the habit of counting your blessings.
Sometimes when amazing things come to our minds and we do not write them down, they seem to escape our mind and we forget them. Have you ever experienced this?
