LESSON TWO (02)
TOPIC: TRYING TIMES AND PATIENCE

OPENING PRAYER: Father, please send me needed interventions in this trying period and teach how to patient and wait foryour promises.

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: The leader should remind the members on why the need for gratitude and its benefits.

MEMORY VERSE: Rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation continuing instant in prayer. Romans 12:12

BIBLE TEXT: James 1:2-4
[2]My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
[3]Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
[4]But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

LESSON INTRODUCTION: Trying times is simply means periods of difficulty or hardship, going through, though times posing as a challenge to your existence. No matter the difficult challenges one maybe going through, there is always provision for the presence of ELOHIM, Hebrews 13:5, that’s why a Christian should remain unperturbed, because there will be light at the end of the tunnel.

LESSON AIM: To encourage members to rely on ELOHIM in this critical time full of uncertainties.

LEADER’S OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson. members should be able to;
(a) Know what is trying times.
(b) Learn to be patient in trying times.

TEXT REVIEW: James 1:2-4.
1. Count it all joy when going through challenging times.
2. In every trying period, virtue of patience is highly required.
3. Allow your patience to grow to maturity,
4. When your patience has grown, your character will be perfect and your will be fully developed with no defects, wanting nothing.

TEACHING METHOD: The leader should use lecture method while giving room for contribution from the centre members.

TEACHING METHOD: Use interactive/discussion method.

TIME MANAGEMENT: Share the teaching time using the suggested time schedule

LESSON OUTLINE ONE: WHAT ARE TRYING TIMES?
Trying times is described as;
1. Difficult situations or hardship someone faces or passingthrough.
2. Times of troubles and struggles. Exodus 2:23-25
3. Times that makes someone to trigger “suicide thought” because of lack of support.
4. Times of test of loyalty to divinity or God’s agenda.
5. Times of waiting for God’s intervention. Job 14:14.
6. Time of secret weeping, test of strength, patience and endurance. Psalm 30:5.
7. Time of ‘no help received’ and situation getting worse and complicated.
8. Time of closed heaven, all efforts become fruitless. Luke 5:1-2
9. Time of abandonment and inflow of undesirable thoughts. Psalm 22:1
10. Time of seeking God’s face for immediate intervention and resolution. Exodus I: 13-13

LESSON OUTLINE TWO: LEARN TO BE PATIENT
To be patient means;
I. Ability to wait without becoming upset, angry.
2. Exercising self-control
3. Refraining from complaining
4. Control your emotions and your intentions.
5. Be calm and rely on divine inputs.

WHY DO YOU NEED PATIENCE?
a. Impatience causes stress.
b. Unresolved stress affects your well-being.
c. Impatience may cause one to take wrong and deadly decisions. 1 Samuel
d. Impatience incurs curses or God’s anger. 1 Samuel 13:14, Exodus 32:1.28

SUMMARY: In waiting on God’s for His intervention the solution is always lasting and yielding, no matter the situation, brethren Wait till God acts

CONCLUSION : Believers should learn to wait on God during trying times

PRAYER POINTS
1. Father, see through all difficult situations am passing through.
2. Father, deliver me from all troubles and struggles.
3. Father save all those that are planning suicide because of lack of support.
4. Lord establish your divine agenda in this trying period.
5. Father, pour your Spirit of intercession on all believers in this challenging time.

GOLDEN DIET FOR THE WEEK
MONDAY: Wait for your appointed time and the change will come. Job14:14.
TUESDAY: Weeping may endure for a night but there is joy knocking now. Psalm 30:5.
WEDNESDAY: Help may not be received now but His presence is still there. Hebrews 13:5.
THURSDAY: In time of closed heaven, all efforts may become fruitless. Luke 5:1-2
FRIDAY: Guide your inflow of undesirable thoughts when troubles. Psalm 22:1
SATURDAY: Always look unto God’s face for immediate intervention. Exodus 1:13-13
SUNDAY: God knows how to deliver you in trying period
